Lent

The season of Lent is a time of solemn reflection and self-denial

Lent starts on Ash Wednesday (22nd February). There will be a solemn Eucharist at 8.00 pm with the imposition of ashes.

The church wll be undecorated and dressed in purple during the season, which ends on Good Friday (7th April).

The season commemorates Jesus' forty day wandering in the desert. As his followers we are asked to deny ourselves as he did, and to spend time examining ourselves and our faith.
