The funeral service gives a framework through which we can begin to do this, as friends and family gather to express their grief, to give thanks for the person’s earthly life and to commend them into God’s keeping.
Each ceremony is planned to suit the needs of the particular family, with the opportunity to incorporate things that were important to their loved one, for example special pieces of music or favourite flowers. The service can take place in St. Mark’s or at a local crematorium chapel, and can be a small, quiet ceremony or a large and public thanksgiving.
